African Bush Mango Seeds (Ogbono)
Ogbono seeds are also known as bush mango seeds, while their botanical name is Irvingia gabonensis. These seeds are also called wild African mango; the Igbos call them Ogbono, while the Yorubas call them Apon. Ogbono soup is an Igbo dish made with ground, dry ogbono seeds. Ogbono seeds (the local name for Irvingia) originated and were first grown in southern Nigeria, with considerable local variation.
